The show was first broadcast on U.S. TV on the CBS network on September 28^th 2007. The final episode was aired on May 16^th 2008. Because of the writer’s strike that year, there were only ever 16 episodes made. Despite a huge outcry by devoted fans, CBS would not change its mind and although there was interest from the Sci-Fi channel, no other network came forward to rescue the series. There is talk of a feature-length film being made in the future, but nothing definite yet.

So, Mick St. John, vampire detective, has joined the ranks of those characters that the public love to see, but that the network execs decide to give the chop to!
